Also-Actebis gets serious with MPS
Germany : in a move to become a leader on the MPS (Managed Print Services) market, broadliner ALSO Actebis has built up with specialized service provider druckerfachmann.de a dedicated company, named ALSO Actebis MPS GmbH. No precise details about the deal have been made public. Through Also Actebis MPS, the German resellers will have access to a complete, vendor-independant MPS offer. The new company is managed by Heino Deubner, the founder of druckerfachmann.de, who has resigned from the board of the company to fully focus on its new duties with ALSO Actebis MPS. The direct activity of druckerfachmann.de remains in Berlin under the management of Doreen Maaß, while ALSO Actebis MPS's offices will be based in Straubing.

South Africa : broadliner Esquire Technologies has acquired the distribution rights for southern Africa from Singapore-based vendor SonicGear Lab, which designs, develops and manufactures a range of audio cabling and peripherals.
From Inter-Data to Monotil
Denmark : Henrik Bach and Jakob Sønderby, who were previously working for Inter-Data, have decided to leave the company to build up their own business, Monotil, based on the their expectations of the market. France : security VAD Westcon Security has hired Julien Duchadeau as its new technical director. Julien was previously working for Atiken, an AV system integrator.
Panasonic and Holdan extend distribution relationship
United Kingdom : in an extension to its existing distribution agreement, AV specialist Holdan is to stock Panasonic’s first dedicated line of graded professional plasma monitors. The new line of BT300 series 107cm and 127cm 3D full HD-ready graded displays are future-proofed specialist broadcast production and post-production monitors. Their colour accuracy and stereoscopic 3D support make them ideal displays for content creators and excellent monitors for broadcast engineers. The monitors are stocked by Holdan for distribution to resellers in the UK and Ireland. They join the line up of Panasonic camcorders, vision mixers and data recorders that Holdan already represents.

AMX chooses Micro P
United Kingdom : automation systems vendor AMX has signed a distribution agreement with broadliner Micro P. Micro-P will be used to push AMX products within key vertical markets, such as the education and corporate spaces.
Xerox back-pedals on Smart-Distribution
Xerox slowly but surely unwinds its Smart-Distribution model, albeit it reluctantly admits it. After Micro-P in the United Kingdom and Adimpo in Portugal and Spain, the print vendor has signed a new distribution partnership with German broadliner Systeam, focused on a selection of desktop products. Seemingly, the Smart-Distribution model, with 2 main distributors in Europe and a handfew others in some countries, was insufficient to help the vendor cover efficiently the market, and even keeps its marketshare. It would not be a surprise to see more partnerships signed in other countries soon…

Royalty is a licence which allows ISVs and system integrators to embed Microsoft products and technologies in their own products in complete solutions. Royalty licence cover Microsoft SQL Server, Dynamics CRM, Exchange Server, Lync, Project, Visio, SharePoint Server and Visual Studio, as well as their runtime versions (for a lower cost).
