United Kingdom: retail specialist Gem Distribution has added Y-cam, creators of the HomeMonitor system, to its vendor portfolio. The new Y-cam HomeMonitor service runs through a personal online account without the need for a computer, delivering high picture quality, great control and advanced features like motion detection, alerts, recording footage and night vision. The exclusive distribution agreement between Y-cam and Gem strengthens Gem’s offering in the camera and monitoring sector, giving customers an ideal solution without the hefty price tag.
Tech Data opens another TD Maverick
Sweden: broadliner Tech Data continues the expansion of its "collection of specialists" strategy, through the launch of a new TD Maverick division to cover the Swedish market. This division is managed by Magnus Widfeldt. Its 12 employees will focus on video-projection and digital signage markets. It is followed by a Swedish version of the Hotlamps website and business (focused on video-projector lamps).
Ingram Micro signs up Oaisys
United Kingdom: Ingram Micro's Value division has welcomed call recording and contact centre management editor Oaisys onboard as vendor. Combined with ShoreTel, Microsoft Lync, Cisco and Jabra, the addition of Oaisys will lend significant weight to the value proposition of the distributor in the Unified Communications space.
EET Europarts acquires the activities in Kjaerulff1 Digital and Kjaerulff1 Development
Danish broadliner and sparepart specialist EET Europarts continue its expansionary strategy and implement its 18th acquisition since 1998 through the acquisition of the activities "Digital" and "Living" from Kjaerulff1 Digital A/S for an undisclosed amount. EET Europarts have only very limited activities within the acquired activities, so it is expected that activities and brands can develop and grow significantly in EET Europarts auspices, with an expected additional turnover of €14m in 2013. Kjaerulff1 has over the years developed three business areas: Digital, Living and Fiber Active products such as Intelligent Gateways and Smart Home Fiber Optic solutions. In order to ensure an optimal focus on the fiber division which in recent years has undergone a significant growth, the company has for strategic reasons, decided to sell the activities of the "Digital" and "Living" divisions. These two divisions develops and distributes equipment and accessories for audio / video, including digital TV receivers, CA modules, antennas, LNB heads, etc. In addition to this, the activities include also the distribution of a number of high‐end brands including Loewe product range in Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden, which have now been merged into local EET Europarts offices. EET Europarts will in the coming months introduce the acquired distribution activities for the remainder of the group subsidiaries in Europe and Africa. CEO Peter Lund, Kjaerulff1 Digital A/S is very pleased to have divested divisions "Digital" and "Living", as he is now able to concentrate its resources in the rapidly growing fiber area.

Middle East: storage and telecom VAD Optimus Technology and Telecommunications has been named by the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) as a new Master Training Partner (MTP) for the Middle East region. Optimus will develop and train partners across the region and help promote the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) program. Additionally, with this new partnership agreement, Optimus further strengthens its partnership with CSA, becoming one of the first two MTPs for CSA globally. Maxatec partners with SOTI
United Kingdom: POS specialist Maxa Technology (aka Maxatec) has signed a new distribution agreement with Mobile Device Management (MDM) software editor SOTI. Under the terms of the agreement, Maxatec will offer SOTI's MobiControl software to its channel partners, enabling them to provide their customers with MDM solutions that put them in control of their portable computing equipment.
