Ingram Micro reviews its Central European Organization
American broadliner Ingram Micro has completely reviews its top management for central Europe. Ernesto Schmutter, formerly executive director International Business Europe, is to succeed leaving Marcus Adä as chairman of the board of management of its German office. Florian Wallner, managing director for the Austrian office until now, extends his area of responsibility to Hungary and Switzerland. He will report directly to Gerhard Schulz and will also join the European leadership team. Thomas Maurer, managing director Switzerland, and Ferenc Lazar, managing director Hungary, will report directly to him along with the Austrian team. Sabine Howest, executive director, strategic partner relations and business intelligence, will assume interim responsibility for vendor relations for the European value business until a successor for Ernesto Schmutter is appointed. Gerhard Schulz will assume temporary responsibility for the Pan Europe business division. Finally, Derrick Wood leaves the direction of the Swedish subsidiary, and is replaced by Anders Wickstrom, reporting to Gerhard Schulz. Anders also joins the European leadership team. Derrick does not leave the distributor, although his future role, at the European level, is not yet know.
Atlantis Computing extends reach with Mindware
Middle East: Atlantis Computing, a provider of Software-Defined Storage, has unveiled its first channel partnership in the United Arab Emirates in the form of a distribution agreement with network and storage VAD Mindware. The distributor will bring Atlantis' solutions to organisations across all vertical markets, including government, communications, finance, and oil and gas, as well as the healthcare and transport.
Avnet Technology Solutions adds further EMC entry-level solutions to its Altitude programme
United Kingdom: multispecialist Avnet Technology Solutions has added EMC's VNXe3200 entry-level hybrid storage array, Data Domain DD2200 deduplication storage system and VNX5100 device to its online configuration tool as part of the Avnet Altitude programme. Originally launched at the end of 2013, Altitude has seen a 126 percent increase in registered partner companies in the past 10 months with more than 200 users producing quick quotes for customers, 24×7. On joining the Altitude programme, business partners gain access to the online configuration portal, sales collateral and joint funded marketing campaigns. In addition, Avnet runs enablement events and helps fund EMC accreditations, allowing partners to develop within EMC's partner programme and benefit from additional funding and rebates. As part of the Altitude programme, and to further support business partners selling EMC storage and data protection devices designed for small and medium-sized businesses, Avnet's "How High Can You Go with Altitude" incentive have been recently extended.

Poland: broadliner MaxComputers has hired Filip Jankowski from AB SA as business development manager. Filip will develop the sales of servers, network devices and storage systems sales.
David Pascouau left Itway
Spain: Frenchman David Pascouau, who has been the director of network and security VAD Itway since 2004 (and before that, marketing and sales manager of Add before it was acquired by the Italian distributor to make it its local subsidiary), has recently left the VAD. He has seemingly dropped distribution altogether, to create eStabilitas, an online video-conferencing system with psychologists. David has been replaced by David Tauste, his former commercial director.
Nextel in BYOD with Awingu
Network and telecom VAD Nextel has inked a distribution deal with BYOD vendor Awingu. This partnership covers the Benelux region, through Nextel offices in Belgium and the Netherlands.
SAS appoints Arrow ECS
France: business analytics editor SAS goes two-tier as it has appointed infrastructure VAD Arrow ECS as its first official distributor. This ought to help the editor cover more broadly the local channel, as it mainly targeted major accounts either directly or through a limited list of resellers.
