Tech Data Europe builds complete cloud ecosystem for Microsoft partners

Broadliner Tech Data Europe is creating a complete Microsoft cloud ecosystem that will enable partners to deliver the Microsoft's entire software stack, along with complementary solutions, quickly and efficiently through a single, integrated management platform. All of Microsoft's cloud-based solutions, including Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS), are available through the Tech Data Cloud Solution Store, powered by the company’s StreamOne platform, as part of the Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP) program. This means resellers, VARs and MSPs can offer the full range of Microsoft solutions alongside complementary offerings through a single portal, and also make use of the monitoring and billing capabilities of Tech Data's platform to manage their customer accounts. "Microsoft solutions are widely used in most end-user organisations and many customers now want to use those applications in the cloud, so it's important that resellers can support the entire stack", said Reza Honarmand, vice president, Cloud, Europe at Tech Data. "In addition, customers need efficient ways to manage and integrate applications and ensure their data is properly backed-up, safe and secure. Through our Cloud Solution Store, Tech Data is providing not only the complete Microsoft suite under the CSP program, but also a whole range of complementary solutions and services that will enable VARs and MSPs to add value to the services they offer and enhance their long-term business prospects."

David Smith, vice president, Worldwide SMB for Microsoft, stated: "the cloud offers tremendous opportunity for our partners and mutual customers. By creating its Microsoft-centric cloud ecosystem, Tech Data is making it simple for our partners to put our best-in-class cloud solutions in the hands of customers."

Further strengthening Tech Data's portfolio of value-added services, the company has recently signed pan-European partnership agreements with the following four leading providers of complementary solutions and plans to make additional services available over the next several months:

  • NetEnrich: a global leader in cloud management which provides services on Microsoft Azure and other advanced cloud solutions. Its white-labelled offerings enable partners to provide management and operations services for data centres, network, unified communications, cloud, and security operations.
  • Spanning by Dell EMC: the leader in SaaS data protection, providing intuitive and scalable cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery services for Office 365. When human factors such as user error, misconfigurations or malicious behavior like ransomware cause Office 365 data to be deleted or damaged, Spanning enables administrators and end users to recover the data and continue business operations quickly and easily.
  • OneBizz: an integrated cloud business solution that encompasses Microsoft ERP, CRM and productivity software and simplifies Microsoft Dynamics and Office 365 environments, making it easy for resellers to offer these solutions to their customers as a fully integrated business solution.
  • Mandarine: a leading provider of instructor-led online training that drives user adoption of products such as Microsoft Office 365. It uses innovative tools to scale training to large numbers of employees virtually.

Exertis launches Dell server training programme

United Kingdom: broadliner Exertis has launched a training initiative to help resellers become skilled in selling Dell servers and their latest converged infrastructure solutions. Resellers will receive hands-on training on Dell's VRTX and FX servers as well as the SC All Flash storage arrays. Alongside this, Dell is providing Exertis with a sizeable investment in equipment to demonstrate its VSAN converged storage solution to customers. This is in recognition of Exertis' own investment in its enterprise demonstration suite that has proved popular with resellers, helping them to gain knowledge and win business.

Gareth Bray, Exertis head of commercial enterprise solutions, said: "In an industry where knowing how to match dynamic business environments with the right IT infrastructure gives you an edge, these initiatives are designed to give resellers all the knowledge and access to equipment that can assist them in selling more Dell solutions."

Exertis has scheduled its first training event for 16th February at Leicester Racecourse combining business with hospitality. The first half of the day will be dedicated to a detailed overview of the Dell PowerEdge server, converged infrastructure and systems management portfolio, including a chance for hands on training with the equipment and tools which support deployment, remote management and ongoing monitoring. The training will be followed by an afternoon at the races. Training is limited to 40 places with each reseller attending receiving a free Dell T130 server that can be used for product demonstrations to their own customers. Exertis will additionally be supporting Dell with on-site demonstrations of the VSAN solution as requested by resellers. "This is a great opportunity for resellers to show their customers how this solution simplifies IT infrastructure and reduces total cost of ownership whilst providing scalability and maintaining efficient performance", added Bray.

Exclusive Networks bolsters BigTec portfolio with Juniper distribution deal

Germany: after a similar deal in Australia some months ago, Juniper Networks has partnered with datacenter VAD BigTec as its newest VAD for Germany. "BigTec offers a holistic ecosystem that Juniper couldn't otherwise access on our own", said Sascha Schantz, General Manager for BigTec DACH. "We're part of a broader ecosystem that serves as a supplementary route to market. As a result of this partnership, we believe Juniper will be better positioned to address fast-growing demand from organisations to transform their traditionally physical data centres to web-scale software-defined data centres."
