Pinnacle opens Huawei Experience Centre

South Africa: broadliner Pinnacle has opened a Huawei Experience Centre at its head office in Midrand. This platform was specifically built in partnership with Huawei in order to facilitate a hands-on hardware experience for all Pinnacle customers interested in the enterprise space. The Experience Centre allows customers to physically test server and storage configurations, networking implementation, firewall implementation, eSight management and WLAN testing and implementation solutions, and in addition serves as a space to gain exposure to various partnership opportunities. Huawei has launched similar Innovation Centres throughout the world in Shenzhen (China), London (UK), Dusseldorf (German), Moscow (Russia), Warsaw (Poland), Sao Paulo (Brazil) and South Africa (Johannesburg). In addition to the opening of the Experience Centre, Pinnacle also announced that from now on, Fred Saayman assumes the role of Huawei brand executive at Pinnacle, and that he will actively be involved in driving this business forward (source: IT Online South Africa).
Pinnacle to distribute Android PC

South Africa: broadliner Pinnacle has signed a distribution agreement with Jide Technology to distribute the Remix Mini, which it believes to be the world's first true Android PC. The Remix Mini is powered by Remix OS, a custom-engineered version of Android Lollipop developed by Jide Technology. Remix Mini allows end users to work and play with the entire Android app ecosystem while taking advantage of intuitive PC features such as a taskbar, multiple window multi-tasking, and full mouse and keyboard support. With a focus on emerging markets and affordability, Remix Mini will launch in South Africa at a price point approximately half the cost of a traditional entry-level PC. The first Remix Mini stock is available through Pinnacle's reseller channel and at all Makro stores in the country.

Pinnacle to distribute Alienware

Customers will have the ability to completely custom build their Alienware product allowing resellers to offer their customers complete custom-builds of their Alienware rigs with a lead time of approximately four weeks for delivery. Pinnacle Africa is official Microsoft FPP distributor

South Africa: broadliner Pinnacle Africa has signed up to the Microsoft Full Packaged Product (FPP) Commercial Contract, which appoints it as an authorised distributor of Microsoft FPP products and hardware accessories in the country.
The addition of the Microsoft FPP expands and bolsters Pinnacle Africa's current Microsoft portfolio which includes a Direct OEM (DOEM) contract for its Proline Windows devices, and a Commercial OEM (also referred to as DSP) distribution agreement for client and server operating systems. The company will now be able to make both software and hardware FPP products available to its resellers.
"This is a significant announcement for our partners because qualifying purchases of Microsoft FPP will be recognised under relevant Microsoft programmes allowing resellers to claim rebates on their purchases," says Kavitha Glenister, software, peripherals and printing brand executive at Pinnacle Africa.
"Our partners will also be able to take advantage of additional value by way of more consistent stock availability and more competitive pricing. Pinnacle Africa also distributes a broad variety of brands which enables it to act as a one stop distribution solution directly resulting in an increased level of convenience for our resellers."
The contract includes the distribution of PC accessories which include keyboards, mice, headsets, web cams, gaming controllers and more. This complements the current peripherals and accessories offering that Pinnacle Africa already has.
