Evanssion and Networks Unlimited ink distribution deal with Rubrik

MEA: Dubai-based network and security VAD Evanssion and South-African infrastructure VAD Networks Unlimited have expanded their solutions portfolio by signing a distribution agreement with Rubrik, a company focused on converged data management. Under the agreement, Networks Unlimited will distribute Rubrik's Converged Data Management platform, which delivers web-scale automated backup, instant recovery, unlimited replication, and data archival on the English-speaking part of the continent through its offices in Kenya and South Africa, while Evanssion will focus on the Middle East region. The agreement enables Rubrik to expand its presence in the Middle East and Africa, while allowing Evanssion to broaden its portfolio and serve a greater variety of requirements. Rubrik highlighted that it had experienced rapid customer growth in North America, and has launched its operations in the EMEA region in response to tremendous customer and partner demands. Its Converged Data Management software powers the company's r300/r500 Series appliances, which deliver automated backup, instant recovery, unlimited replication, and data archival at infinite scale. The company was recently named a Gartner Cool Vendor in storage Technologies.

"Rubrik is the game-changing innovation for data protection in the last two decades, and the company’s steep growth in North America has proven that", said Bipul Sinha, Co-founder and CEO, Rubrik. "The demand for our solutions has increased significantly, and we are excited to partner with Evanssion to bring our solutions to customers in the Middle East."

"Evanssion's strategy is to provide its partners with a strong and diverse portfolio, by bringing vendors that offer differentiation in their solution offerings", said Dilip Kalliyat, President, Evanssion. "Rubrik brings a new approach to data management and protection with its solutions that has helped organisations simplify and meet their stringent data management requirements. Our aim is make this technology available, so organisations can benefit from Rubrik's end-to-end data protection solutions."

"The agreement allows us to add a focused data backup solution to our current family of products, strengthening Networks Unlimited's offering in the market", says Anton Jacobsz, MD at Networks Unlimited. "Rubrik specialises in virtualised environments, including VMware. Rubrik also holds key technology partnerships with Tintri, Nutanix, and Pure Storage."

Jacobsz adds that it will be targeting the enterprise market, large corporations and financial services, especially those deploying 200 VMs or more. "Networks Unlimited will first focus on South Africa prior to expanding the product into Africa", Jacobsz says.

The announcement follows on the heels of Rubrik's response to tremendous customer and partner demand in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), launching its availability into this region.

"Rubrik is excited to bring its solution to EMEA with our growing team and our strategic distributors and reseller partners", says IT industry veteran Karl Driesen, the newly appointed head of EMEA sales at Rubrik. "The combination of strong demand for Rubrik's converged backup and recovery solution, and our solid EMEA distribution, reseller and support networks will enable us to make a significant impact in the marketplace."

Distinguishing itself from others in the market, ProLabs provides end-to-end services, including sourcing, coding, testing, customisation, responsive support and ongoing expertise. Networks Unlimited opens cross-border office

Africa: South African network and security VAD Networks Unlimited has opened its first cross-border office in Nairobi, Kenya, encouraged by the growing demand for its products in East Africa. "While our offices may be new in Kenya, Networks Unlimited currently operates across 18 other countries in Africa, and nearly 20% of our revenue is generated from sub-Saharan Africa," says Anton Jacobsz, MD of Networks Unlimited. Networks Unlimited's footprint now spans five offices, of which four, including its head office, are located in South Africa. "Our on-the-ground presence in Kenya’s capital city provides us with the right footing to steadily expand our business, and better serve and support our East African channel partners and customers," says Jacobsz. He points out that the company's vision is to grow the Networks Unlimited Eastern Africa office into a fully-fledged operation similar to its Johannesburg setup. "We will first focus on providing our security, networking, storage and data centre products, before establishing the technical expertise side of our business." He adds that once the business in East Africa is "running smoothly", the company will investigate expansion into West Africa, Nigeria in particular. "It is the start of great things to come as we aim within the next five years to have Africa generating the same amount of revenue as Networks Unlimited in South Africa currently does, effectively doubling our turnover," says Jacobsz.
