Infratructure VAD Arrow ECS has signed a contract with Microsoft to deliver Microsoft's training portfolio across Europe, Middle East and Africa. The agreement renews Arrow's relationship as a long-term Microsoft Learning Partner and extends its geographical reach – following and further empowering the existing distribution agreements between both companies. The scope of available training spans from Microsoft's cloud solutions to certification-related courses and involves its online training modalities Open edX Learning Platform and Microsoft On Demand. Arrow ECS has been named a multinational strategic distribution partner of Symantec in the EMEA region. Following the acquisition of Blue Coat by Symantec in 2016, Arrow ECS has renewed its distribution contract with Symantec. Prior to the acquisition, Arrow had distributed the products and solutions of both companies in numerous countries. Arrow ECS has now extended its collaboration with the company. This new contract covers Austria, the Baltic States, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Symantec, the world's largest provider of cyber security solutions, offers a comprehensive portfolio with products, solutions and services for endpoint, cloud, web and messaging security. Distributor Arrow Electronics has promoted former managing director for the Data Centre Solutions division of Arrow, Mark McHale, to vice president of Arrow ECS in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Mark McHale succeeds Jesper Trolle who has been promoted to president Americas of Arrow ECS.
Mark joined Arrow just over thirty years ago and has worked towards a successful career in sales at the company, becoming a member in Ireland and the United Kingdom management team over a decade ago. His experience in the IT industry will support Ireland and the United Kingdom in its investment strategy by identifying game changing technologies to provide the channel with a unique ecosystem of established and emerging vendors that complement one another to meet any customers' desired outcome. Infrastructure VAD Arrow ECS has launched its "Things Evolved: IoT Innovator Program" in the EMEA region. The programme is a new initiative to develop the company's Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem and to facilitate channel partners' path into IoT markets. Arrow is uniquely positioned in the IoT markets, with a wide portfolio addressing every layer of the IoT solution stack, ranging from electronic components to IT solutions.
