Boldon James chooses Starlink

Middle East: Boldon James, a provider of data classification and secure messaging solutions, has appointed security VAD Starlink to cover Turkey and Africa. StarLink, acclaimed as the largest value-added distributor of IT security solutions across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, will add Boldon James Classifier to their enviable portfolio of top security vendors. This latest development means StarLink's extensive partner and customer base in Turkey and Africa will now have access to Boldon James' market leading Classifier data classification product range. StarLink, who have on-the-ground presence in 11 countries (in the region, in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates), are recognised as the "Trusted Security Advisor" of choice to over 2200 enterprise and government customers, and assist their customers to identify key risks and define priorities to address IT security gaps in relation to compliance and next-generation threat protection. This is something that is required more and more in Turkey and Africa, as highlighted at the recent Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference; where close to 70% of the region’s IT experts expressed concern regarding their company's information security measures. Furthermore, Gartner recently revealed that Middle East and North Africa (MENA) spending on information security technology and services would reach €1.175B by the end of 2016; an increase of 8% over 2015.

Boldon James Classifier empowers users to assign a value to data that they create and handle, in the form of a visual and metadata classification label. Classifier can then prevent sensitive data from being distributed in error whilst enforcing security policy and best practice across the organisation. After an extensive market evaluation, StarLink selected Boldon James as its exclusive data classification vendor based on the superiority of its product, technical and customer support in comparison to other vendor offerings in the market. The new partnership with StarLink will foster growth of the Boldon James brand and Classifier product range across the region.

New distributors for Authlogics, HID, HPE and Nexthink

MEA: authentication vendor Authlogics has appointed network and security VAD EliteVAD and broadliner AxizWorkgroup to grow the customer base for its multi-factor authentication platform across Middle East and Africa (thanks to EliteVAD offices in Dubai, Egypt and Kuwait and AxizWorkgroup teams in Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zambia), focusing on the enterprise market and specifically the financial services sector. Authlogics recently launched its Authlogics for Retail Banking. The platform enables banks to replace hard-tokens and passwords with highly secure, convenient and consistent 1.5 Factor Authentication or 1.5FA, 2FA and 3FA logon methods. Authlogics for Retail Banking can be deployed for customers accessing online, mobile and telephone banking services, as well as providing additional layers of security for ATM and Point of Sale devices.

Network and security VAD SCOPE Middle East has become a member of the HID Advantage Partner Programme. According to SCOPE, the HID Advantage Partner Programme is a loyalty-based initiative which provides partners with the ability to evolve their relationship with the vendor for scalability and overall growth. Under the programme, SCOPE will distribute the full range of IAM Solutions, including HID Global's ActivID Authentication solutions and ActivID Credential Management System. In addition, SCOPE will work closely with HID Global to enhance end user value in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Sparepart specialist Service Parts Logistics (SPL) has long been the authorised channel for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, enabling it to supply genuine original HPE parts and upgrades to its customers. This year SPL has added genuine HPE networking and storage equipment to their customer offering via the HPE authorised spares channel. In terms of the range of networking and storage equipment made available by HPE, SPL stocks the full current portfolio, as well as versions of previous generations of hardware at much reduced pricing – from HPE Flexfabric and modular switching, to fixed port switching, routing, security and wireless access points and controllers. Similarly, with regards storage, SPL is ideally positioned to offer a "shopping cart" solution where every item from hard drives to chassis is available as an equivalent spare through its HPE channel.

Finally, security VAD StarLink has signed a distribution agreement with Nexthink, a leader in end-user experience management. StarLink will sell, install and support Nexthink end-user IT analytics solutions through its extensive network of channel partners to enterprise and government customers in the region, through its offices in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. By combining real-time endpoint analytics and end-user feedback Nexthink helps IT improve business impact. Nexthink’s unique analytics and visualizations provide new insight and enable IT to adopt proactive operations, reduce costs and ultimately enhance end-user business productivity. Al Jammaz, Mindware, Redington and Starlink expand their offers

Middle East: on the 2016 edition of the GITEX IT event, Saudi telecom operator STC has unveiled a partnership with network and telecom VAD AlJammaz Distribution. This agreement enables STC Business to establish reseller community and recruit IT channel in Saudi to market and sell STC Business products and services and have a market coverage to reach all customers specially the SMEs around the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On GITEC too, automated IT service delivery editor RES has selected network and storage VAD Mindware as its main distributor in the Middle East to accelerate its growth in the market. Through this partnership, Mindware will provide training and support to RES resellers in the Middle East (through its offices in Dubai, Egypt, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia) to ensure companies optimise the benefits from its RES solutions implementation. "At Mindware, we are committed to partnering with the industry-leading brands to offer a one-stop-shop for world-class innovation coupled with the essential value-added consultancy and support services", said Nicholas Argyrides, Chief of Sales and Marketing and Deputy GM, Mindware. "Our collaboration with RES is a strategic addition to our portfolio, taking our business into the field of digital workspace enablement, automation and security, allowing us to offer exactly the right solutions for these customers."

Broadliner Redington has announced an distribution agreement between its Value division and Splunk, a provider of software platform for real-time Operational Intelligence. Redington Value will distribute Splunk products through its extensive network of channel partners to enterprise and government customers throughout the Middle East, Turkey and Africa thanks to its offices in Angola, Bahrain, Egypt, Ghana, Iraq, Kenya, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, the United Arab Emirates and its Dubai-based office covering the remaining countries of Africa. "Redington Value is excited to announce its distribution partnership with Splunk. The Splunk Platform delivers real-time Operational Intelligence, which is essential for businesses needing to make analytics-based decisions. Uniplum consists of a team of technologists and problem solvers from different verticals and solutions with an ability to inform, explore and confirm decisions, solve complex problems and bring new ideas into the market. An integral part of Redington Value, the new division aims to provide consulting on new technology and solutions for numerous verticals and help partners to sell those solutions.

Another distributor for Cylance

After Starlink in the MEA region and Ignition Technology in the United Kingdom, advanced threat prevention specialist Cylance has inked a distribution deal with security VAD Infinigate, covering the DACH and Scandinavian regions. The deal allows Infinigate to distribute Cylance technologies through its offices in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Didi Dayton, Vice President Worldwide Channel, for Cylancen says: "We are very excited to be partnering with Infinigate. We are confident in their expertise and understanding about what makes Cylance unique from other cybersecurity vendors. With this channel partnership, we can satisfy the significant customer demand in the Nordic region and respond to the huge interest we are already experiencing from potential DACH customers."

StarLink expands in Europe and sign with ForeScout and LogRhythm

Dubai security VAD StarLink has, as part of its planned investments to expand across the rest of EMEA, appointed Avinash Advani as Senior Vice President, Strategic Alliances & International Markets. In his new role, Avinash will focus from StarLink's newly opened Central London office, on expanding all markets outside the Middle East, including StarLink's presence in Europe, the US, Africa and Turkey. Avinash was formerly Vice President, Business Strategy at StarLink's Dubai Headquarters, driving strategic objectives across the organization, focusing on portfolio evolution, geographical expansion, strategic partnerships, and strategic customer development. Nidal Othman, Managing Director at StarLink, said: "StarLink has achieved tremendous success over the last 5 years since Avinash has joined the company. As we continue on the path to realizing our vision to be the largest global IT Security True VAD, I am proud to say that there is no one who befits this promotion more than him. According to Avinash Advani, "the next three years will be devoted to expanding our European partner coverage across the entire continent as part of a 'three-year road map', with the aim of reaching an IPO on NASDAQ and the Dubai Financial Exchange by the end of 2019." A new European region will be rolled out every six months, starting with Benelux (first half of 2017), then DACH (second half of 2017), CEE and Nordics (2018) and finally France and southern Europe (2019). By then, Starlink expects to reach double its turnover, to €270 millions. The distributor has already secured seven of its existing vendors to sign on for Europe (including Attivo Networks, Core Security, IBM and Recorded Future), and expects for three more by the end of the year.

The company has also signed distribution deals with ForeScout over the MEA region and LogRhythm over the META region. These products will be available through StarLink offices in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
