Tech Data introduces new global brand
American broadliner Tech Data has introduced its new brand identity, highlighting the company's expanded reach and capabilities as a global leader in technology distribution and services. Following the company's transformational acquisition of Avnet's Technology Solutions business earlier this year, Tech Data has established a single global brand that capitalizes on the full reach, efficiency, and technical expertise of its new combined organization. Tech Data will now operate as a unified brand in all of its markets throughout the world, enabling channel partners to benefit from its unmatched end-to-end portfolio of products, solutions, and services. "As we evolve our business in anticipation of what's next, the Tech Data brand has evolved as well. Today we are proud to introduce the new Tech Data and the next chapter in the history of our company", said Bob Dutkowsky, chairman and CEO of Tech Data. "Our new global brand is centered on the proven strength of the Tech Data name and provides a unified promise of integrity, expertise and excellence. Tech Data serves as a beacon in the IT channel—central to our customers' and vendors' success. Our teams have highly specialized skills in next-generation technologies, extensive software and services capabilities, and the best logistics engine in the industry, all backed by a global IT system that can do anything from process the sale of a laptop to configure the most complex multi-vendor solution. Tech Data has become a company that delivers business outcomes—not just products—and we're excited for the future of our company as we help connect the world with the power of technology."
To enable a specialized approach while maintaining the exceptional service levels that partners expect from Tech Data, the company has grouped its offerings into two primary solutions portfolios under the Tech Data brand:
While Tech Data's logo will not change, the company's color palette and graphic devices have been updated to incorporate both its foundation and its new dimensions, blending the unique capabilities of Tech Data and Technology Solutions into a modern, global brand. Tech Data has also introduced new purpose, vision, and mission statements.
Tech Data expands partnership with Docker
Broadliner Tech Data has announced that its Azlan VAD division has extended its distribution agreement with Docker, to deliver their Enterprise Edition (EE) offering across a wider European footprint. This partnership further strengthens Tech Data's footprint in the data center market and provides partners with the ability to take a holistic approach to application and software development, deliver agility and flexibility to IT operations, and drive down operational costs. "Containerization is a fast-growing technology and we see a good opportunity with Docker to provide more of our customers with the competitive edge they need to stay ahead", said Jason Boxall, vice president Strategic Vendors & International Channels EMEA at Tech Data. "Tech Data is already an established leader in data center solutions and can provide an optimum platform for Docker's technology to transform more businesses across Europe. In turn, Docker will benefit from our extensive partner network as we work together to help drive adoption and integration with a range of technologies in various enterprise environments."
Tech Data will distribute Docker Enterprise Edition (EE), an integrated platform for developers and IT teams to collaborate, bringing improved security, policy and controls to the application lifecycle without sacrificing agility or application portability. Tech Data will also distribute all editions of Docker Enterprise Edition (EE) subscriptions: Basic, Standard and Advanced. This agreement will help to drive innovation in the cloud and leverage existing knowledge to create optimal data center environments. Docker Enterprise Edition provides organisations with an enterprise-ready management solution that allows developers to ship applications from development to production 13 times faster, while giving operations teams the ability to seamlessly migrate these workloads to the cloud.
The extended footprint includes Austria, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, as well as all of the East region countries where it operates, including Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey and the Adriatic region. The rollout is being done in a phased approach, which started with Switzerland in March and Portugal and Spain in April. Additional countries will be rolled out over the coming months.
Iberia: broadliner Tech Data has introduced its combined management team in Iberia, following the successful completion of the acquisition of Avnet Technology Solutions. Santiago Méndez will lead the combined Azlan and Technology Solutions organization in Iberia, reporting to Oriol Cornudella, regional managing director, Tech Data Iberia, who is supported by Pauli Amat, country manager Tech Data Spain and Augusto Soveral, country manager Tech Data Portugal. Méndez will be supported in the Azlan and Technology Solutions organization by Ladislau Lopes, director, Azlan Portugal. Méndez says: "the acquisition of the Technology Solutions business and its integration with Azlan has created in Spain and Portugal a premier global IT distributor with unmatched capabilities and the most diverse end-to-end solutions from the data center to the living room. Azlan and Technology Solutions will operate a 'best of both worlds' model that combines the existing vendor-oriented structure of the Azlan business with the specialist business units of Technology Solutions. This will deliver a combination of unique capabilities that allows us to accelerate our progress in these markets for the benefit of our customers."
Broadliner Tech Data has announced that its Technology Solutions business, formerly a division of Avnet and now part of Tech Data, has signed a new distribution agreement with Dell EMC in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey. Through the agreement, Tech Data will provide channel partners in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey with access to solutions across the complete enterprise Dell EMC portfolio, including servers, storage, cloud computing solutions and converged infrastructure technologies, to meet the needs of its small, midsized and enterprise customers. Jason Boxall, vice president, Strategic Vendors and International Channels, EMEA at Tech Data, said: "we are pleased to extend our agreement with Dell EMC to four additional countries and look forward to helping more partners meet their needs with the extensive and innovative portfolio that Dell EMC offers. Our Dell EMC partners are uniquely positioned to solve their customers’ business challenges thanks to new technologies that are redefining the future. We continue to leverage our deep data centre expertise to enhance our partners' abilities and deliver world-leading, comprehensive solutions from ground-breaking companies like Dell EMC."
"The extension of our agreement with Tech Data is a logical step to support the growth of our business in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey. Tech Data is a leader in the data centre area and we can benefit from its large-scale partner network and expertise to further drive business solutions for customers in those countries", commented Michael Collins, senior vice president, Channel EMEA, Dell EMC.
This partnership further cements Tech Data's relationship with Dell EMC, a global market leader in servers and storage. Tech Data is committed to supporting the strong growth in this market and driving momentum through this strategic partnership across the EMEA region. Tech Data now offers the complete Dell EMC portfolio of solutions in 22 countries in EMEA: Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
Broadliner Tech Data has announced that NEXIONA's innovative range of IoT software is now available on the Tech Data Cloud Solutions Store, powered by StreamOne, Tech Data's platform for end-to-end provisioning and billing of software and cloud services. Tech Data customers in Europe can now manage the complete sales cycle for NEXIONA's solutions using this digital platform, from initial purchase to license renewal, through local cloud stores in Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
"IoT is one of the top areas of focus for many of our partners' customers", said Colin Blair, vice president, Data Analytics and Internet of Things (IoT) at Tech Data. "The addition of NEXIONA to our Tech Data Cloud Solutions portfolio provides our partners with the broad set of tools they need to be successful in meeting the diverse needs of their customers."
NEXIONA is part of Tech Data's growing SmartForce IoT offering, which comprises a portfolio of validated end-to-end solutions for systems integrators, value-added resellers and service providers, providing them with the tools they need to deliver solutions and products quickly to the emerging IoT market. NEXIONA's MIIMETIQ software enables system integrators and service providers to rapidly and easily design, prototype, and commercialize their own industrial IoT applications by simplifying secure connection to physical devices and the management of all sensor data.
"To unlock the value of IoT, system integrators and solution providers need a way to quickly design, prototype, and turn new ideas into value-driving IoT applications", said Victor Paradell, vice president, Tech Data Smart IoT & Analytics, Europe. "Delivering NEXIONA's MIIMETIQ high-productivity application enablement platform through Tech Data's StreamOne gives our partners an easy, fast and cost-effective way to start building their own IoT platforms—with full control over their data—and migrating to new, more profitable service delivery models."
NEXIONA's platform supports more than 60 machine-to-machine (M2M) and IoT protocols and communication technologies, and is built on a flexible service-oriented architecture (SOA) that fully integrates with IBM Watson IoT and Microsoft Azure IoT Hub cloud services and is available from Tech Data as an integrated solution with the Dell Edge Gateway 5000 Series for rapid IoT framework development.
