British Isles: UTM vendor Barracuda has signed up storage VAD CMS Distribution to help it reach more MSPs across Ireland and the United Kingdom with the distributor offering cloud security and data protection. Unsecured creditors of brankrupt broadliner Entatech are set to receive around two-thirds of their money back. According to documents published by Companies House, the administrators show that Entatech's unsecured creditors are owed just over €11.3m by the Telford-based outfit, and there is €7.3m to pay them off. Of the €11.3 million, €8 million is owed to unsecured trade creditors. This figure includes Microsoft which is owed just over €1.4m. AV broadliner Midwich has announced that Nathan Rogers has been internally appointed as the Group's NEC Business Development Manager, having formerly been part of the Midwich Technical team. Nathan's appointment reflects the exceptional rate of growth within the IT and AV industry as customers become increasingly reliant upon Midwich Group's specialist knowledge and expertise to provide high quality AV solutions. Telecom VAD ProVu has bid farewell to its long-standing Sales Director and Founder, Ian Godfrey, as he retired from the company. In a career spanning 18 years, Ian has become a well-known figure in the Channel. Having established ProVu back in 1999, he has played a tremendous role in the development of the company, helping to build their reputation as leaders in the field of VoIP hardware distribution (source: Microscope United Kingdom, Channel Eye United Kingdom, Comms Business United Kingdom).

British Isles: Dylan Price, who was sales manager for telephony specialist Brightstar, has left the company1. PC component and peripheral specialist CI Distribution has announced three new new partnerships with key players in the IT industry: Brother (rugged mobile printers), iKey (rugged keyboards, mice, display and pointing devices) and Mad Catz (gaming accessories). Scale Computing, an hyperconverged storage, server and virtualisation vendor, has unveiled a partnership with VAD CMS Distribution, which will be responsible for selling Scale Computing's HC3 hyperconvergence and virtualisation platform, across Ireland and the United Kingdom. After 11 years of business, lately as sales manager, Ian Miller has decided to leave telephony specialist Data Select1. The mobility division of broadliner Exertis has been chosen by STK as a distributor for its new line of handsets2. Telecom VAD Nimans has expanded its reseller training programme by hosting its first-ever event at a new support centre. The facility is part of the company's modern Trafford Park Trade Counter on the outskirts of Manchester, where Panasonic resellers brushed up on their technical skills as part of an inaugural three-day course. Finally, AV specialist Sahara Presentation Systems has extended its deal with Milestone AV Technologies to secure rights to distribute Chief mounts and brackets to resellers and integrators in the country. Sahara added Milestone's Da-Lite projection screens to its portfolio in February this year and will now offer the full range of Chief racks and AV accessories (source: PCR United Kingdom, Mobile News United Kingdom 1 and 2, inAVate United Kingdom).

An acquisition for Caseking, another office for CMS Distribution and new vendors for Exertis, GTI, Ingram Micro and Lidera Networks

Iberia: German etailer and distributor Caseking has acquired Portuguese etailer GlobalData for an undisclosed amount. GlobalData has no known distribution activity and is thus not listed in ITdistri database.

British storage and consumer electronics specialist CMS Distribution has expanded its European market presence, opening a new office in Madrid, Spain. The Spanish market is a strategic market for CMS Distribution due to its size, quick-to-market time frame and its fast technology adoption cycle. "If you are a US or Far East vendor wanting to enter the European markets you have two choices: you either go with several distributors in each country or you opt for one master distributor and you rely on it to push out, coordinate, and work with the sub-distribution partners", commented David Elder, European managing director at CMS Distribution. "Our strategic objective is to have a presence in all significant European markets and offer our partners the flexibility, attention and experience they need to become successful. Culturally and economically speaking, Spain is considered a key location for penetrating the European market." CMS Distribution España will be led by Juan Jose Ros Lluch, the former manager of British consumer electronics specialist Bullboat for Spain. CMS Distribution plans to continue its expansion within the European markets to achieve master-distributorship status for as many desirable new tech products and companies as possible, offering the opportunity to take a long-term strategic view to bringing products to market.

Consumer electronics specialist Exertis Unlimited has started the distribution of the Halo Master Chief speaker from AC Worldwide in the region.

Broadliner GTI has been appointed official distributor for the Surface ecosystem in Spain1.

In Portugal, the Mobility division of broadliner Ingram Micro has added the new Nokia feature phones to its portfolio.

Finally, network and security VAD Lidera Networks has been chosen by Cylance as an official distributor for its endpoint protection systems in both Portugal and Spain2 (source: Channel Partner España 1 and 2, IT Channel Portugal).

Beta, Commtech, Exertis, Ingram Micro and JGBM find new partners

British Isles: backup editor Nakivo has signed a distribution agreement with British print, storage video specialist Beta Distribution. Under the agreement, Beta Distribution will distribute Nakivo solutions in the UK and Ireland. Beta has also made two key appointments to further strengthen its sales, service and solutions proposition in the Enterprise Technology space: Miguel Castro (formerly working for Infortrend) as newly created, Head of Solutions Architecture, and Chris Moore (from CMS Distribution) as Head of Sales for the newly opened Northern Sales office in Leeds.

Network and storage VAD Commtech has struck a strategic channel alliance with e-mail messaging and Web security editor AppRiver1. As a premier distribution partner, Commtech will help to accelerate the rapid growth that AppRiver has achieved and enable extension of their regional market share throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Broadliner Exertis has unveiled two additions to its portfolio in the region. In the United Kingdom, the Exertis UK as signed an agreement with British audio specialist Bowers & Wilkins to distribute its range of technology products, which includes headphones and wireless speakers. As well as providing the full range of consumer electronics products, Bowers & Wilkins will work with Exertis to offer a full support programme to new customers which will be in keeping with the brand's premium status. In Ireland, the Exertis Ireland has confirmed a distribution partnership with Promethean, an interactive whiteboard vendor2. The new partnership follows Promethean's recent changes to its UK channel model, to reflect the needs of channel partners and the evolving landscape of the education technology market. Promethean, in partnership with Exertis, now provides an enhanced suite of wrap around sales and marketing support, which enables partners to benefit from greater access to manufacturer expertise as well as a bolstered programme of local demand creation campaigns. The partnership with Exertis will follow the same new channel model as the UK, giving Promethean greater coverage in Ireland as well as a stronger grip on the Irish education sector.

In the United Kingdom, broadliner Ingram Micro has added Tripp Lite UPS solutions to its portfolio.

Finally, in the United Kingdom again, specialist office machine distributor JGBM has been appointed an Official Epson Partner, which means it can introduce a range of Epson printers and scanners to its product portfolio. John George, JGBM's MD, commented: "we're delighted to be adding Epson to our portfolio of products. Whilst we have listed Epson for some time, it's to date been only as a special, so we're looking forward to driving the brand into the market and delivering our USP of delivering product expertise to the dealer to assist them to sell to their customers." CMS Distribution acquires TNS Connect to explore new routes to market

Irish storage VAD CMS Distribution has acquired consumer electronics specialist TNS Connect from PCH for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition further strengthens CMS Distribution's position as Europe's leading IT specialist distributor. Frank Salmon, founder and CEO of CMS Distribution, commented on the acquisition: "we are delighted to welcome TNS Connect to the group. As specialists in emerging consumer technologies, they have an impressive range of vendors and customers which perfectly complement the CMS Distribution portfolio.
