HIG Europe supports Infinigate's expansion strategy
2017-04-13
HIG Europe, the European arm of HIG Capital, and Swiss network and security VAD Infinigate (which is also present in Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom) have entered into a comprehensive strategic partnership. HIG will support the management team of Infinigate over the coming years as the company strives to maintain its steep growth trajectory by expanding its presence in new and existing geographical markets. Infinigate will benefit from the strategic and financial resources of HIG as well as its experience in implementing successful buy and build strategies. In addition, Infinigate will have access to HIG's substantial expertise and extensive network in the technology sector. The Infinigate management team, headed by founder and CEO David Martinez, will continue to lead the company in the future and the main shareholders remain involved in the company.
Dr. Holger Kleingarn, Managing Director at HIG, commented on the transaction: "Infinigate has demonstrated impressive performance over the past two decades. The European IT security solutions market has enormous growth potential. HIG will support Infinigate in continuing to share in that growth and pushing ahead with its geographical expansion through organic growth as well as acquisitions. HIG is very much looking forward to the partnership and cooperation with Mr Martinez and his team." David Martinez, the founder and CEO of Infinigate, added: "On the basis of our strong historical track record, we have decided to accelerate our European expansion strategy over the coming years backed by an investor that supports our strategy as well as our independency in the market. We are delighted to partner with HIG, an experienced global investor, in implementing this strategy. Through the partnership, which has been facilitated by our advisor GP Bullhound, Infinigate will benefit not only from HIG's financial resources, but also from its substantial experience in the technology sector, in the development of new markets and, most importantly, in new acquisitions."
HIG will acquire a significant shareholding in Infinigate as part of the strategic partnership. The transaction is subject to approval by the regulatory authorities. The parties have agreed not to disclose further details of the transaction.
Infinigate expands in Scandinavia
2017-02-21
Finland: Swiss network and security VAD Infinigate has expanded its presence in Europe with the opening of its new subsidiary in Finland. With this step, Infinigate is now present in nine countries within Europe (Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) and further strengthens its leading position in the Nordics. The new Finish subsidiary (Infinigate Finland Oy) is managed by Pasi Moilanen (formerly working for network and security VAD Internet Smartsec) and is based in Espoo, neighbouring Helsinki. It will pursue exactly the same strategy as the whole Infinigate Group, operating as Value Added Distributor for IT Security Solutions and distributing the solutions and services only via the Finish IT reseller channel.
The primary reason for the expansion into Finland was the number of requests from various vendors, which were looking to work together with a highly qualified and true VAD focussed on IT-Security in Finland. As a result, Infinigate Finland will already start with an impressive portfolio of well-known security brands such as CarbonBlack, Cylance, GFI, Ipswitch, Radware, Rapid7, RSA, SecurEnvoy and Sonicwall. The vendor portfolio will get expanded over time, this in line with Infinigate's strategy to ensure a constant high level of quality.
Thomas Hagelid, Regional Manager Nordics at Infinigate, states: "Infinigate is having great success in the Nordics and has gained a market leading position in IT-Security distribution in the region. We are proud to now cover the full Nordics, including Iceland and Baltics."
"The move into Finland is well timed with the expansion of the Infinigate Group. For a longer period, we have been analyzing the Finish IT-Security Distribution landscape and our conclusion was that there is a need for a Value Added Distributor like Infinigate with focus on Security", says David Martinez, Founder and CEO of Infinigate.

Infinigate will distribute RSA portfolio in the region, through its offices in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. In Finland, Norway and Sweden, the deal is exclusive (the incumbant distributor being Arrow ECS), while in Denmark, RSA switches to a two-distributor model, SEC Datacom working alongside Infinigate (source: IT Bransjen Norge).
Another distributor for Cylance
2016-11-28
After Starlink in the MEA region and Ignition Technology in the United Kingdom, advanced threat prevention specialist Cylance has inked a distribution deal with security VAD Infinigate, covering the DACH and Scandinavian regions. The deal allows Infinigate to distribute Cylance technologies through its offices in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Didi Dayton, Vice President Worldwide Channel, for Cylancen says: "We are very excited to be partnering with Infinigate. We are confident in their expertise and understanding about what makes Cylance unique from other cybersecurity vendors. With this channel partnership, we can satisfy the significant customer demand in the Nordic region and respond to the huge interest we are already experiencing from potential DACH customers."
"Adding Cylance into our product portfolio is very exciting for Infinigate. The threat and vulnerability landscape is rapidly changing, and the AI approach for the end-point is no less than revolutionary. We believe that Cylance and their technology will play an important role in the future of IT security and fighting cybercrime. We fully embrace taking Cylance on board", states Andreas Bechtold, Infinigate's managing director.
