Redington and TechAccess find new partners
Middle East: Redington Value, the value division of broadliner Redington, has joined the Nokia Global Partner Programme. Under the channel partner agreement, Redington Value will deliver Nokia's technology solutions and services to resellers and their customers in MEA through its offices in Angola, Bahrain, Egypt, Ghana, Iraq, Kenya, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, the VAD will market, distribute and service Nokia's network solutions to enterprise and public sector customers as a value added distributor.
Security and storage VAD TechAccess has signed a master distribution agreement with Informatica, the Enterprise Cloud Data Management provider. As the only master value-added distributor for the Middle East North Africa (MENA) and Pakistan regions thanks to its offices in Dubai, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, TechAccess will offer Informatica's entire software portfolio of Big Data management, cloud integration, data integration, data security, data governance and data compliance solutions. Informatica has the industry's most comprehensive data management solutions for cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments. Working with TechAccess, Informatica expects to grow its footprint in the region, mainly targeting large enterprises and public sector organisations (source: ITP Middle East, Reseller Middle East).
Middle East: on the 2016 edition of the GITEX IT event, Saudi telecom operator STC has unveiled a partnership with network and telecom VAD AlJammaz Distribution. This agreement enables STC Business to establish reseller community and recruit IT channel in Saudi to market and sell STC Business products and services and have a market coverage to reach all customers specially the SMEs around the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On GITEC too, automated IT service delivery editor RES has selected network and storage VAD Mindware as its main distributor in the Middle East to accelerate its growth in the market. Through this partnership, Mindware will provide training and support to RES resellers in the Middle East (through its offices in Dubai, Egypt, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia) to ensure companies optimise the benefits from its RES solutions implementation. Broadliner Redington has announced an distribution agreement between its Value division and Splunk, a provider of software platform for real-time Operational Intelligence. Redington Value will distribute Splunk products through its extensive network of channel partners to enterprise and government customers throughout the Middle East, Turkey and Africa thanks to its offices in Angola, Bahrain, Egypt, Ghana, Iraq, Kenya, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, the United Arab Emirates and its Dubai-based office covering the remaining countries of Africa. Fortinet appoints Redington Value as MEA VAD
Cyber-security vendor Fortinet has appointed Redington Value, the value division of broadliner Redington, as its new value-added distributor (VAD) for the Middle East and Africa (MEA), beside incumbent Exclusive Networks and Oxygen. Redington will push Fortinet's entire security solutions portfolio across the GCC, Saudi Arabia, Levant, Pakistan and Sub-Saharan Africa through its offices in Angola, Bahrain, Ghana, Kenya, Kuwait, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Uganda and the United Arab Emirates (both for the Middle East and Africa for countries with no local offices). In addition, the distributor will provide customers with pre- and post-sales services and support, training, consultancy, proof of concept (PoC) facilities and end user demand generation activities as part of its value-added services offerings. Itochu may buy Redington for €400m
India: Japanese trading conglomerate Itochu Corporation is discussing an acquisition of broadliner Redington for as much as €400 million. Singapore-based NRI family Kewalram Chanrai, Standard Chartered Private Equity and Taiwanese IT distributor Synnex together own over 55% stake in the Chennai-based Redington, which is run by an independent management team under R Srinivasan. The three could offload shares to Itochu at a premium to the prevailing market price, if talks fructify. Itochu, with a history dating back to 1858, is Japan's third largest trading giant after Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsui & Co. It has used acquisitions to bulk up trading presence in IT and communication products. Redington would provide Itochu a big boost in India and Middle East markets, Redington owning subsidiaries in Angola, Bahrain, Egypt, Ghana, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda and the United Arab Emirates (source : The Times of India).
