Industry veteran Paul Gibson retires

United Kingdom: telephony specialist DMSL has announced the retirement of its long-standing Director of Sales, Paul Gibson, who has taken the decision to retire from the industry to focus on his own personal ventures and pursuits. In a career spanning more than three decades, Paul Gibson has become a well-known figure in the comms and printer market channels. Over the last 13 years he has been pivotal in establishing DMSL as a leading distributor and aggregator of broadband and associated services, and Cloud Telephones as a key player in the growing IP voice sector. Before joining DMSL, Paul spent had an illustrious 15-year period in the print sector, working at Oki Printing Solutions, Kyocera Mita and Brother International. John Carter, Managing Director of DMSL, said: "the industry is losing one of its most outstanding and distinctive characters. I want to thank Paul, personally and professionally, for the tremendous effort and enormous contribution he has made to both DMSL and Cloud Telephones. He leaves us in great shape and ready to move onto the next phase of development. It has been a pleasure to know him and to work with him. We are genuinely sorry to see him go, but wish him a long, fruitful and happy retirement. He has earned it, that's for sure."
Paul now plans to pursue some of his own business ideas and spend more time nurturing his passion for scootering and classic Lambrettas: "it's been a long and exciting journey over the past 30 years. At times, it has been challenging but it has also been tremendously rewarding and a lot of fun. I have met and worked with some great people over the years and I'd like to thank everyone who has supported and backed me during my time in the industry. I will miss it, but it’s time to move on. I wish DMSL and Cloud Telephones every success in the future."
Vonage partners with DMSL

Vonage's partnership with DMSL provides the Company with the opportunity to immediately extend the distribution of its cloud communications solutions for businesses throughout the UK through DMSL's nationwide network of resellers. EMC provides Velocity distribution partners worldwide with new assembly services capability

Distributors worldwide will be provided with the technical training, proven methodologies and the backing of EMC's Global Services organization so they may assemble EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure and other solutions for their reseller Partners. By receiving a pre-assembled, proven solution on-site that has been customized to meet the customer's specific business needs, reseller Partners can immediately focus on accelerating the installation and implementation so that its customers can realize the benefits of the solution faster.
The new assembly capability for distributors builds on EMC's commitment to provide choice for how Partners assemble multi-vendor solutions. It also enables Partners to accelerate their profitability by focusing on value-added services to more quickly deploy the solution to meet specific customer needs. This announcement follows a string of other new EMC initiatives developed to help channel partners worldwide accelerate their customers' journey to the cloud. These include VSPEX Proven Infrastructure, as well as Velocity Cloud Practices – Cloud Builder and Cloud Provider – and EMC Cooperative Services, which were announced at the first annual Global Partner Summit held at EMC World in May.

DMSL launches SharedBand bonded broadband

United Kingdom : broadband, data and voice communications services distributor DMSL has launched a bonded broadband service that provides partners with a highly attractive alternative to expensive leased line options and an ideal platform for the sale of hosted voice and other services. DMSL branches out with Opal deal
