Redington and TechAccess find new partners

Middle East: Redington Value, the value division of broadliner Redington, has joined the Nokia Global Partner Programme. Under the channel partner agreement, Redington Value will deliver Nokia's technology solutions and services to resellers and their customers in MEA through its offices in Angola, Bahrain, Egypt, Ghana, Iraq, Kenya, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, the VAD will market, distribute and service Nokia's network solutions to enterprise and public sector customers as a value added distributor.

Security and storage VAD TechAccess has signed a master distribution agreement with Informatica, the Enterprise Cloud Data Management provider. As the only master value-added distributor for the Middle East North Africa (MENA) and Pakistan regions thanks to its offices in Dubai, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, TechAccess will offer Informatica's entire software portfolio of Big Data management, cloud integration, data integration, data security, data governance and data compliance solutions. Informatica has the industry's most comprehensive data management solutions for cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments. Working with TechAccess, Informatica expects to grow its footprint in the region, mainly targeting large enterprises and public sector organisations (source: ITP Middle East, Reseller Middle East).

Seclore appoints Redington Gulf

Middle East: Seclore Technologies, a provider of Enterprise Digital Rights Management (EDRM) solutions, has appointed broadliner Redington Gulf as a VAD for the region. Seclore is committing additional investment to expanding and developing its presence and impact in the Middle East, following the opening of a new regional office in Dubai, in April 2017. Seclore is expanding its GCC presence and operations in response to increasing demand for its award-winning solutions. Redington Gulf, through its offices in Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, will be a key to achieve this goal. Amit Malhotra, VP Sales India Middle East & Africa, Seclore, comments: "we are already active in the GCC with a particular focus on the UAE, where our GCC regional office provides technical expertise and support closer to our customers. Data losses are at all-time high and information centric security is gaining momentum, highlighted by the recent global ransomware attacks, so our timing is very appropriate as data security is pushed to the top of the corporate agenda."

A recent survey from ESG, Securing Information in the Age of External Collaboration, concludes that more than 1 in 4 companies believes it's very likely that sensitive data has been stolen by third party vendors. 98% of respondents cited the loss of sensitive data as a top or significant concern. Commonly stated reasons for data loss include emails sent to the wrong person (67%), unauthorized access (64%) and lost portable storage devices (61 percent). Seclore helps organizations secure their sensitive data regardless of how or where it travels. Protection remains with the files when open or stored on mobile devices and laptops and if they are shared via any file sharing service or email solution. File owners can also dynamically modify usage controls or revoke access on previously distributed files.

Redington Value to distribute Palo Alto Networks

Middle East: Redington Value, the value division of broadliner Redington, has signed an agreement with Palo Alto Networks to deliver the vendor's next-generation security platform to resellers and their customers in Egypt. Redington Value, which already has distribution rights for Saudi Arabia, will now expand its network to distribute the Palo Alto Networks security solutions in the Egypt market. "We are delighted to have expanded our distribution agreement with a market leader in the next-generation security market", said Ramkumar Balakrishnan, president Redington Value. "We believe Palo Alto Networks adds considerable value to our existing portfolio of leading security technologies. Our newest agreement further cements our position as the market-leading security solutions distributor in Egypt, with the ability to deliver outstanding support to our channel partners and their customers. News from Allscan, Asbis, DVCom, Redington, Sariya IT, Spectrami and Starlink

Middle East: Kodak Alaris Information Management has signed a value-added distributor partnership with Allscan Middle East that will enable the distributor to promote and offer the entire portfolio of Kodak Alaris document scanners and information management software to enterprises across the region. Allscan will also offer Kodak Alaris backed local service and support for organisations that use the company’s award-winning document scanners. The agreement is an extension of the excellent partnership the two companies have shared in the South African market over the last several years.

High-end server and motherboard vendor Supermicro has appointed broadliner Asbis as its distributor in the region1. In terms of the agreement, Asbis will supply channel partners with Supermicro's entire product array. In addition, Asbis Middle East will help the vendor to onboard systems integrator for the vendor's advanced IT/hyper-converged infrastructure and building block solutions for data centre, cloud, enterprise, Hadoop/big data, HPC and embedded systems.

Network and telecom VAD DVCOM Technology has announced that it will help 2N, a subsidiary of the Axis Group and provider of IP intercoms systems, elevator systems, access control, IP audio systems, M2M and telecommunications solutions to grow its reseller footprint and channel business in the region2.

Redington Value, the value division of broadliner Redington, has inked two distribution deals, with Nexthink (endpoint security)3 and Gemini Data (security appliance for Splunk)4. Both vendors will be available in the region through Redington Value offices in Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates

Network vendor TP-Link has signed a distribution agreement with network and security VAD Sariya IT Distribution for Saudi Arabia. In terms of the agreement, Sariya IT Distribution will supply channel partners in Saudi Arabia with TP-Link's entire SMB product range and services5. According to the vendor, the partnership with Sariya IT Distribution is aimed at helping it to strengthen its footprint in the SMB segment in the country.

UK-based cyber-security software provider Osirium Technologies has appointed its first distribution partner Spectrami for the MENA region to expand its partner base in the region through its offices in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. "Spectrami has built an excellent reputation working as a 'Vendor Extension Model' (VEM) which suits the Osirium business approach. Its goal is to reflect the same experience that a vendor would offer directly and, due to the level of intelligence behind our technology, we understand the value in this. We know this relationship will start some exciting engagements in the region and have every confidence that Spectrami will be a great distribution partner", said Duncan Fisken, Business Development Director for MENA at Osirium.

Finally, security VAD StarLink has signed up VMware as a new partner, adding the virtualisation giant into its already extensive portfolio of security vendor partners6. The new partnership is based on VMware NSX which ties into the virtualised solutions of some of StarLink vendor partners, explained Nidal Othman, managing director StarLink. "VMWare was a very strategic and great milestone in the history of StarLink. The partnership, which is around VMWare NSX, complements many of the technologies that we have in our portfolio", Othman said. The VMware, StarLink partnership is VMWare's first and only NSX specialised distribution partnership in the world, revealed Ossama Eldeeb, senior manager, MENA partner organisation (source: Intelligent Tech Channels Africa, ITP Middle East 1, 2, 5 and 6, Reseller Middle East 3 and 4, Channel Post MEA).

More business for Mindware, Redington, Spectrami and Trigon

Middle East: power management company Eaton and infrastructure VAD Mindware have signed a distribution partnership for its complete portfolio of power quality products across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the UAE. Mindware will be responsible for the distribution of Eaton's Power Infrastructure Solutions, including virtualisation-ready uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), rack mountable power distribution units (ePDU), and Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) software.

NAS vendor QNAP Systems has recently announced a partnership with broadliner Redington Gulf to develop the Middle East NAS market and to boost its market share through its offices in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates1. QNAP and Redington Gulf signed a distribution agreement covering the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. "We are delighted to cooperate with QNAP to develop the Middle East market and bring comprehensive NAS solutions and versatile applications to both home and business users", said Jeetendra Berry, Vice President, Volume Division of Redington Gulf. Both companies work together since 2010 in India.

Network and security VAD Spectrami continues to implement its strategic geographical expansion plans by extending its scope of operations in Northern Europe markets with new recruitment and local presence, through the opening of Spectrami UK Ltd. Adding to the remarkable Spectrami team is Nicola Quincey, who has been appointed as the Sales Director – Northern Europe for the management and execution of the next steps in the making. Nicola has a background in Security and having worked for integrators, vendors and distribution she understands the requirements of all parties in the channel model. She has also worked for large organizations such as Microsoft where she was part of the team responsible for the Enterprise and Partner group sales and operational strategy. More recently she has worked with both large vendors and startups to help define their go to market strategies, messaging and sales strategy, always with an eye on increasing revenues. "Since its inception, Spectrami had a plan and vision to become a VAD with footprint and operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The Northern Europe operations headquartered in UK is the first step to expansion out of middle east region", said Anand Choudha, Managing Director, Spectrami. "I'm pleased to announce Spectrami is bringing its hugely successful Vendor Extension model to the UK and European markets. Finally, wearable vendor Boltt has signed a partnership with péripheral specialist Trigon to be its exclusive distributor for UAE2. Under the agreement, Trigon will be responsible for distributing Boltt's range of products. "The market for wearable devices in both autonomous and passive categories has exploded in the UAE over the past couple of years, and we wanted the best-in-industry representation of our products. With Trigon, we feel we have a synergetic partnership. Trigon, knows the customer base inside-out, and we can look forward to satisfying the customers' desire for innovative wearables", said Arnav Kishore, CEO, Boltt (source: Reseller Middle East 1 and 2).
