Mindware, Dell EMC extend partnership in KSA
Middle East: following a successful partnership across the Gulf, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, Dell EMC and network and storage VAD Mindware are now expanding the relationship into Saudi Arabia, where the distributor has already been a major player within the Dell EMC Client Solutions Group (CSG) product vertical. Middle East: broadliner Experts Computer has signed an agreement with mobile projector vendor Aiptek to become its master distributor in the UAE. With this new agreement, Aiptek will bring its mobile projection products to the UAE and GCC countries delivering superb visual and aural experiences that can empower, inspire, entertain and enrich the lives of customers. Software, network and storage VAD Mindware has expanded of its vendor portfolio with the addition of Barracuda Networks' security and data protection products in the META region, through its offices in Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates1. Broadliner Mitsumi Distribution has been appointed by HP Inc. as an authorised HP Supplies Distributor for the Middle East region. HP and Mitsumi already have a well-established alliance of six years in East Africa. This partnership expands this existing deal to Bahrain, Omand, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. As an authorised distributor, Mitsumi will distribute HP Supplies entire range of products in the Middle East and will further strengthen HP's channel ecosystem, expand its customer base, provide better service inventory and delivery, and training and support to resellers in these markets. Finally, Dubai-based network and security VAD SCOPE Middle East has joined the HID Advantage Partner Program, a loyalty-based programme which advances a partner's relationship with HID Global2. As a member of the programme, SCOPE will distribute the full range of IAM Solutions, including HID Global's ActivID Authentication Solutions and ActivID Credential Management System. Middle East: power management company Eaton and infrastructure VAD Mindware have signed a distribution partnership for its complete portfolio of power quality products across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the UAE. Mindware will be responsible for the distribution of Eaton's Power Infrastructure Solutions, including virtualisation-ready uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), rack mountable power distribution units (ePDU), and Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) software.
NAS vendor QNAP Systems has recently announced a partnership with broadliner Redington Gulf to develop the Middle East NAS market and to boost its market share through its offices in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates1. QNAP and Redington Gulf signed a distribution agreement covering the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. "We are delighted to cooperate with QNAP to develop the Middle East market and bring comprehensive NAS solutions and versatile applications to both home and business users", said Jeetendra Berry, Vice President, Volume Division of Redington Gulf. Both companies work together since 2010 in India.
Network and security VAD Spectrami continues to implement its strategic geographical expansion plans by extending its scope of operations in Northern Europe markets with new recruitment and local presence, through the opening of Spectrami UK Ltd. Adding to the remarkable Spectrami team is Nicola Quincey, who has been appointed as the Sales Director – Northern Europe for the management and execution of the next steps in the making. Nicola has a background in Security and having worked for integrators, vendors and distribution she understands the requirements of all parties in the channel model. She has also worked for large organizations such as Microsoft where she was part of the team responsible for the Enterprise and Partner group sales and operational strategy. More recently she has worked with both large vendors and startups to help define their go to market strategies, messaging and sales strategy, always with an eye on increasing revenues. Finally, wearable vendor Boltt has signed a partnership with péripheral specialist Trigon to be its exclusive distributor for UAE2. Under the agreement, Trigon will be responsible for distributing Boltt's range of products. "The market for wearable devices in both autonomous and passive categories has exploded in the UAE over the past couple of years, and we wanted the best-in-industry representation of our products. With Trigon, we feel we have a synergetic partnership. Middle East: on the 2016 edition of the GITEX IT event, Saudi telecom operator STC has unveiled a partnership with network and telecom VAD AlJammaz Distribution. This agreement enables STC Business to establish reseller community and recruit IT channel in Saudi to market and sell STC Business products and services and have a market coverage to reach all customers specially the SMEs around the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On GITEC too, automated IT service delivery editor RES has selected network and storage VAD Mindware as its main distributor in the Middle East to accelerate its growth in the market. Through this partnership, Mindware will provide training and support to RES resellers in the Middle East (through its offices in Dubai, Egypt, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia) to ensure companies optimise the benefits from its RES solutions implementation. A new GM for Mindware
Middle East: infrastructure VAD Mindware has named industry veteran Gilbert Lacroix as its new general manager. He was previously advisor to the CEO of Midis Group, which owns Mindware. As part of the management restructuring, the distributor has also promoted Arkan Saleh, who was heading finance function, to the role of chief operating officer.
"Being part of the €3.6 billion Midis Group, we have a solid foundation and the right set up to face any crisis to emerge stronger. We are moving to a solutions-based distribution model and the plan is to bring out plug-and-play type of solutions, especially targeted at the SMB sector in the region. We are not trying to cover all the brands and products, but to focus on products we know we can add value to," says Lacroix.
In line with its move towards solutions distribution, Mindware is planning to expand its portfolio this year. "We have to flesh out our solutions portfolio, which will require us to bring some niche vendors to the region. You will also see our volume business shrinking over the next couple of years as the focus shifts towards solutions", says Lacroix.
Despite the tough economic conditions in the region, Lacroix says Mindware is on track to achieve its growth target and revenue to the tune of €360 million in 2016. "We will not sacrifice bottom line for the sake of top line growth. We want to make sure that our growth is profitable."
To help its partners combat the credit crisis, Mindware is also working along with its vendors to tailor finance solutions. "Some of the partners are facing a credit crunch but it cannot stop business. Vendors are approaching us to deal with this situation and we will offer our partners several options to finance their projects," adds Lacroix (source: Reseller Middle East).
