Redington and TechAccess find new partners

Middle East: Redington Value, the value division of broadliner Redington, has joined the Nokia Global Partner Programme. Under the channel partner agreement, Redington Value will deliver Nokia's technology solutions and services to resellers and their customers in MEA through its offices in Angola, Bahrain, Egypt, Ghana, Iraq, Kenya, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, the VAD will market, distribute and service Nokia's network solutions to enterprise and public sector customers as a value added distributor.

Security and storage VAD TechAccess has signed a master distribution agreement with Informatica, the Enterprise Cloud Data Management provider. As the only master value-added distributor for the Middle East North Africa (MENA) and Pakistan regions thanks to its offices in Dubai, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, TechAccess will offer Informatica's entire software portfolio of Big Data management, cloud integration, data integration, data security, data governance and data compliance solutions. Informatica has the industry's most comprehensive data management solutions for cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments. Working with TechAccess, Informatica expects to grow its footprint in the region, mainly targeting large enterprises and public sector organisations (source: ITP Middle East, Reseller Middle East).

Tech Data completes acquisition of Avnet's Technology Solutions business

American broadliner Tech Data has completed its acquisition of the Technology Solutions business from its competitor Avnet. The combination creates a premier global end-to-end IT distributor with unmatched capabilities and the most diverse solutions from the data center to the living room. "Our combined company is perfectly positioned at the epicenter of the IT ecosystem—with the scale and scope to serve dynamic markets throughout the world—giving our customers access to an end-to-end portfolio of IT solutions and efficiently bringing our vendors' products to new customers in more markets. The addition of Technology Solutions significantly broadens Tech Data's value-added distribution business (aka Azlan), increasing the company's ability to help its partners capitalize on next-generation technologies while enhancing its go-to-market capabilities with complementary skills, expanded vendor relationships, and new customer sets. The combined company has a larger and more balanced geographic footprint, including a presence in the Asia-Pacific region, a new market for Tech Data. The company has operations in 40 countries, with 14,000 employees serving approximately 115,000 customers in more than 100 countries. The company also announced its global executive leadership, as well as several new regional and global roles. Reporting to CEO Bob Dutkowsky are:

Financial Terms

The total purchase price at close was approximately €2.35 billion (subject to certain post-close adjustments), including €2.17 billion in cash, and 2,785,402 shares of Tech Data stock, representing approximately 7.3% of Tech Data's shares outstanding (after issuance of the new shares). Tech Data financed the cash portion of the purchase price through a combination of €900 million from its recent public debt offering and €900 million of bank term loans, and the remainder from drawings under other credit facilities and cash on hand. The transaction is expected to be significantly accretive to Tech Data's non-GAAP earnings per share in the first full year. The company expects to achieve annual cost savings of approximately €90 million within 24 months, with one-time costs to achieve these cost savings expected to be approximately €135 million.

TechAccess sharpens focus on Saudi Arabia

TechAccess' dedicated Partner HUB located in Riyadh, is the distributors efforts to enable its reseller base with complete insight on solutions and current market dynamics. TechAccess has invested in this state-of-the art facility by deploying only the best-of-breed technology from across its vendor portfolio. "Saudi Arabia a vital market for TechAccess, as we tighten our focus on providing organizations with technologies that will help drive the country's digital endeavor. The Partner HUB facility consists of a Partner Academy for training, a Partner Studio for customer meetings, a Migration Centre and a Systems Room. The Partner HUB has been fully functional for more than a year and TechAccess has conducted numerous partner and customer training. All training and courses are delivered by experienced professionals and covers the full range of solutions including Server and Infrastructure, Virtualization, Security, Data backup, Storage, Data Archiving, Disaster Recovery, Networks and Unified Communications. The Migration Center at the Partner HUB is designed to provide practical & technical support to partners for migrating or upgrading solutions. The Partner Studio offers a central location for partners to meet with their customers and prospects. Tech Access is currently working on a range of projects including Proof-of-Concept focused on showing partners and customers the performance of its technology stack, as well as migrations and upgrading to new product versions.

TechAccess partners Fujitsu

Middle East: software, security and storage VAD TechAccess expanded its portfolio with addition of Fujitsu's enterprise product line in its bouquet distributed through its offices in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The distributor kicked off the partnership with an launch session focused on providing an overview of Fujitsu product line to the resellers. It also highlighted its plans and strategies for resellers to reach out to target markets and verticals. "Our partner introduction sessions are crucial in order for resellers to thoroughly understand a vendor's products, and the strategy that goes into making a partnership successful," said Yasser Eldawy, General Manager Gulf & LENA – TechAccess. "Fujitsu's solutions form a key element in our enterprise portfolio, and it is important for partners to understand where they fit in, and how they can bundle the right solutions for customers, and remain profitable themselves."

TechAccess joins Huawei regional Partner Network

Middle East: Huawei has announced a new partnership agreement with security, software and storage VAD TechAccess. TechAccess will now be able to offer Huawei's wide range of enterprise ICT products including servers, storage and networking solutions to key customer and verticals through its specialized IT partner base and play a leading role in developing a strong channel for Huawei enterprise products, through its offices in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. TechAccess will offer Huawei partner and their customer's access to its own state-of-the-art solution centre for Proof of Concept and trainings. TechAccess will also provide comprehensive support in terms of partner recruitment, enablement, product marketing, channel support & readiness, and partner-centric loyalty programs.

Both companies will focus on bringing Huawei's solutions portfolio to key industries such as telecommunications, banking, government and the oil & gas sector across the GCC as well as Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
