South Africa: cloud VAD Tarsus on Demand has partnering with tier 1 Internet and telephony provider BitCo. This offers their resellers the ability to resell voice and data services to their clients. This new relationship means that resellers working with Tarsus on Demand can offer their customers a complete connectivity-to-cloud solution from a single point of contact.

BitCo is a national licensed operator that owns and maintains a national private Metro Ethernet based Fibre and Wireless last-km network. In addition to offering high-speed wireless and uncapped, uncontended Fibre Internet connectivity, it also offers high-quality voice-over-IP and PBX solutions to business customers of all sizes.

Says Tarsus on Demand CEO Jonathan Kropf: "to take advantage of the full power of the cloud, end-user organisations need fast, robust and reliable Internet connectivity. By partnering with BitCo, we enable our resellers to add connectivity to their product portfolio as part of a complete business solution that eases their customers' transition to the cloud. The BitCo partnership is a great addition to our portfolio and will help our channel partners to grow their businesses."

Working together, Tarsus on Demand and BitCo will help resellers to leverage BitCo's carrier-grade network to add new revenue streams to their business without increasing their overheads. They will also back the channel with comprehensive sales and marketing support as well as regular training on BitCo's products and services. Michael Colin, Sales Director at BitCo, says: "partnering with Tarsus on Demand will enable us to reach a new reseller channel. We aim to provide the Tarsus channel with all the benefits of a carrier grade network so that they can easily enter the telecoms market and take advantage of the rapidly growing demand for high-speed connectivity."

Tarsus Cloud On Demand's Microsoft CSP offering helps channel accelerate transition to the cloud

South Africa: cloud VAD Tarsus Cloud On Demand is bringing Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) services to its resellers. The offering is set to help South African ICT resellers and systems integrators deliver complete cloud-based business solutions to their customers. As a Microsoft CSP, Tarsus Cloud On Demand will provide Microsoft partners with a range of value-added services, such as support, financial backing, and an automation and billing platform. This will enable resellers to fast-track their entry into the cloud space without needing to make heavy infrastructure and staffing investments of their own. Resellers will have direct access to the billing process and the client relationship, even as they leverage the established Tarsus Cloud On Demand infrastructure for billing and provisioning. They will have the flexibility to sell pre-packaged solutions or build their own branded and customised solutions for their customers that include Microsoft offerings.

Says Kathryn Tindale, Sales Director for Tarsus Cloud On Demand: "With their customers wanting more and more of their IT solutions deployed in the cloud, ICT resellers have an opportunity to carve out a predictable revenue stream by offering their clients subscription-based solutions. This offering will help resellers of all sizes deliver offerings that address the cloud and mobile needs of business customers both large and small."

Tindale adds that Microsoft's cloud- and mobile-first strategy will help accelerate the transition to the cloud as it makes it more attractive for customers to buy infrastructure as a service solutions, Office productivity applications as a service, and even operating system subscriptions. "By working with Tarsus Cloud On Demand, resellers will be able to give customers a single invoice for a range of cloud services", says Tindale. "We will provide the systems, tools and first-line support that helps them to make the transition to the cloud a success for themselves and their customers."

Tarsus lifts stake in Tarsus Cloud On Demand to 100%

South Africa: IT distribution giant Tarsus Technology Group has bought the 49% of Tarsus Cloud On Demand it did not already own, as part of its strategy to be a leading player in the cloud computing and software as a service markets. Tarsus Cloud On Demand is a leading cloud enablement partner to the South African ICT reseller channel and enterprise customers. The company has especially aggressive plans to ramp its software subscriptions business in the months to come. Tarsus Cloud On Demand provides a comprehensive infrastructure as a service platform for delivering a range of IT services from the cloud. It enables partners to resell its prepackaged solutions or build their own branded and customised solutions for their customers, without the need to make the significant investment in cloud infrastructure.

"The cloud provides the channel with the ability to create an incremental source of predictable and high margin revenue and offers us a tremendous growth opportunity as we continue to evolve from a traditional distributor into a solutions partner for South African IT resellers and systems integrators", adds Miles Crisp, CEO of Tarsus Technology Group. "For both Tarsus Technology Group and our resellers, this is an opportunity to provide the migration, support and integration services that the end-user will require as they transition towards the cloud. We can offer a complete set of solutions that enable the channel to help customers optimise their IT environments, whether they use cloud services, on-premises technology or a hybrid of the two."

With the NetApp portfolio and access to our professional services, resellers can develop innovative storage and data management solutions that give them a competitive advantage and position them as stronger partners to their clients. Because NetApp is a channel-focused vendor, the partnership enables our channel partners to interpret where their customers currently are on their storage journey, map out their next moves, and implement future-proof solutions. This is not just a conversation about storage – it is a conversation around how our resellers can help their clients make their data work for their businesses at the lowest possible cost and with the best possible results."
